The Project Developer (Outside Sales) at Woodland Builders will play a crucial role in guiding our clients through the Project Development Process, ensuring an exceptional client experience, and ultimately generating client referrals and repeat business. This position involves working closely with the Woodland Team and partners to convert client needs and wish lists into fully conceptualized, scoped, and priced projects, as well as executing construction contracts. The ideal candidate will establish a mutual relationship of trust with our clients, partners, and staff, reflecting the image and brand of Woodland Builders at all times.


Responsibilities:

  • Attend networking events to establish referral-generating relationships.
  • Conduct prospecting calls and meetings with strategic partners.
  • Perform discovery calls with potential clients.
  • Conduct in-home sales consultations.
  • Engage in a nurturing consultative selling process.
  • Work with clients to set deadlines and finalize selection items.
  • Estimate jobs and prepare written contracts with payment schedules.
  • Manage pre-construction process to execute construction contracts efficiently.
  • Procure and assemble necessary project pricing information.
  • Research client property values, budget ranges, and potential conflicts.
  • Manage change order processing for ongoing projects.
  • Hand off projects to the production team and attend pre-construction meetings.
  • Follow up during and post-construction to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain knowledge of design and market trends.
  • Manage lead database, qualification, and customer communication processes.
  • Make accurate field measurements and interact professionally with various stakeholders.
  • Represent the company professionally in all interactions.
  • Obtain 5-star client reviews and testimonials.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

Knowledge, skills, abilities, and other qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of construction industry experience or equivalent field and classroom background.
  • Detailed understanding of executing the entire homebuilding and remodeling process and or Kitchen and Bath sales experience.
  • Accurate field measurements and documentation of existing conditions and proposed scopes of work.
  • Creation of accurate, detailed material and selection lists.
  • Ability to professionally interact with trades, vendors, employees, customers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Extensive knowledge of building codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Deep understanding of the proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in construction work.
  • Proficiency in the operation of a personal computer, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Docs.
  • Independent workability and adherence to work schedule.
  • Clear and concise communication both orally and in writing.
  • Interpretation of drawings and diagrams.
  • Mathematical problem-solving.
  • Able to understand, follow, and concisely transmit written and oral instructions, as well as meet attendance schedules with dependability and consistency.
  • Construction estimates and work orders creation using spreadsheet applications like Microsoft Excel and web-based software
  • Possession of a valid state drivers license and a good driving record.
  • Reliable method of transportation.
  • Must maintain a phone capable of text messaging and have it on their person at all times.
  • Work Context: Primarily an administrative/office position with in-home sales consultations and occasional checking in on job sites
